The first district secretaries conference of 2023 was held on 10.01.2023 at the auditorium of the State Ministry of Home Affairs under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena.
The government has decided to proudly hold the 75th National Independence Day under the theme "Namo Namo Mata A Step to a Century".
A progress review meeting held on 03.01.2023 regarding the National Independence Day was held in the auditorium of the Ministry of Home Affairs under the chairmanship of Hon. Ashoka Priyantha, State Minister of Home Affairs.
As the Secretary of the Ministry of State Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government, Mr. Neel Bandara Hapuhinna arrived at the State Ministry of Home Affairs at Narahenpita on 03.01.2023 and started his duties.
In view of His Holiness Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI’s ascension to heaven, it has been declared by Hon. Ranil Wickremesinghe, President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, to place the national flag at half-mast in all government institutions on 05.01.2023, as a mark of respect to the great service rendered by His Holiness to the Christian devotees and the people of the whole world
